Guwahati: Darpan Dance Akademi, a leading classical dance institute based in the city, in collaboration with Samskritiki, Bhubaneswar will organize the International Indian Dance Festival (IIDF) in Guwahati on May 21-22.
IIDF is conceptualized and founded by renowned Bhubaneswar-based journalist and critic, Shyamhari Chakra.
“The two-day dance festival will be held at Rabindra Bhawan. The festival is held in Guwahati for the second time,” said Dr. Anjana Moyee Saikia, famous dancer from Odissi and head of IIDF-Guwahati.
“It is a national and international dance festival. Dancers who belong to different classical forms and folk forms can apply in solo, duet and group. It’s basically a platform for young dancers,” she said.
The organizers have been holding the festival for several years at different locations in India including Bengaluru, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, New Delhi, Indore, Amravati, etc.
