Ready for the Rumba? Bryan dance studio offering ballroom dancing lessons

From Rumba to Waltz. From February 5th they will be offering classes where you can learn the basics of ballroom dancing. The first week of class is free, and owner Ellen Wilcox says dancing is a great way to exercise mind and body while having fun.

“Being with your friends, learning a new skill, learning movement, then you can take that and do it somewhere else. You can go to a wedding. You can go to any type of event and you can practice. It’s a great way to connect with people, ”explained Wilcox.

The Dance Barre BCS offers several other classes such as ballet, cardio dance, yoga-lates, etc., but decided to add ballroom classes due to the recent interest in learning to dance. skill. Rumba classes will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday and Waltz class will immediately follow at 7:00 p.m. You do not have to register for the courses. They ask you to arrive about 15 minutes in advance so that you can sign a waiver.

Wilcox emphasizes that dancing is for everyone. She said these classes will be fun for beginners and those with experience who want to dust off their dance shoes.

For ballroom dancing lessons, you don’t need special shoes or a partner. Free babysitting is also available at The Dance Barre BCS.
