PELHAM- Pelham’s 24th Fitness Center adds a little flair to its fitness classes. Beginning Friday, June 10, the gymnasium will offer professional dance classes to the public.

The gym partners with IV Motion Dance Company to offer beginner and advanced level dance lessons. Classes are held once a week and will be open to the community for people 18 and older.

Participants do not need to be gym members to register and are encouraged to come alone or with friends. There is a $10 fee per lesson.

“I’m so excited to bring this fun activity to our community,” said Libby Schropp, group fitness coordinator for the gym.

Schropp added that she thought the classes would be popular in the Pelham community because there were no real opportunities for dance classes in the Shelby County area.

“I feel like we need other options to do on the weekend other than dinner and a movie,” she said. “What better way to spend a Friday night than meeting new friends and learning to dance?”
