Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Kalanjali students performed classical dance, which delighted Ravindra Bhavan’s audience on Saturday. The program took place under Kalotsav 2022.
Kalanjali, an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional Indian classical dance and art forms, had staged the concert as part of its 23rd annual festival.
The program began with Gajavadana Stuti, a composition by Papanasham Shiva in raag Shivranjani, performed by eight students. This was followed by Jatiswaram and Shabdam presented by 18 students.
The folk dance section consisted of Gujarati and Punjabi forms. The energetic performance of the dancers captivated the audience.
The highlight of the program was the Rangarohan (first stage performance) performed by 21 child performers like pushpanjali and alarippu, which is the first step of the dance in Bharatanatyam.
Artists presented Carnatic songs. The event ended with a Tamasoma Jyotir Gamaya dance drama from Keno Upanishad. Guru Pradeep Krishnan choreographed the dance and led the event.
Managing Director of MP Tourism Development Corporation, S Vishwanathan, and Director of Culture, Aditi Kumar Tripathi, were the chief guest and guest of honor respectively.
