Classical Dance Evening: The Tribune India

Amritsar: The SL Kala Kendra school in Bhavan organized a classical dance evening with several forms of classical dance from the country presented. Former MP Rajya Sabha, Shwait Malik was the main guest on the show. Dancers from various states featured in UP, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and others performed classical and folk dance forms specific to their states and were appreciated for transmitting their cultural heritage through the main guest. Malik also presented certificates to the performers and commended Kala Kendra for her attempt to preserve our country’s cultural heritage through art and creative expression.

Opposite Punjab University Transfer

Today, members of Chief Khalsa Diwan’s office strongly opposed the transfer of Punjab University from State University to Central University. On this occasion, Chairman of Chief Khalsa Diwan Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar along with other members expressed their concern and said that the Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat symbol was established by the University of Punjab, Chandigarh during undivided Punjab. Nijjer said that the Punjabis had given their land and rebuilt this university in Chandigarh, in the development of which the Punjabis had contributed a lot. “It is the beacon of education in Punjab in modern times. This university is guiding the future of Punjab and this university has recognized a number of colleges,” he said.

IIM Amritsar celebrates Yoga Day

The IIM Amritsar campus will hold a special morning session to mark International Yoga Day. The Yoga Day events will be organized according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Ayush. Students and faculty members will be part of the event that will take place on the transit campus.

Drawing contest

Children take part in a drawing competition on Monday to mark Yoga Day at the Red Cross building in Amritsar.

The Central Information Office of the Union Government’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has organized a drawing competition on the theme of International Yoga Day and to raise awareness of yoga. Schoolchildren took part in the painting competition held at the Red Cross building. Sanchita Sharma, Diya Bhalla and Vidhi Arora took first, second and third place respectively while Anushka Sharma, Dilraj Singh and Devarshi took first, second and third place respectively in the Special Child category. On this occasion, the FPO of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Gurmeet Singh (IIS) said that like every year, the International Day of Yoga is organized all over the world and programs related to yoga are organized in various places in the country. In the same vein, the competition was organized to motivate the younger generation at the local level. He called on everyone to make yoga a part of their lives. On this occasion, the secretary of the Amritsar Red Cross, Tejinder Singh Raja congratulated all the candidates.
