LANSING, Michigan – Take those dancing shoes. There are a variety of dance classes in mid Michigan. You can sweat it out with cardio dancing, hip-hop bike groove, and shuffle and step during your favorite line dancing.
Kick-N-Style Line Dance
If you’re looking to perfect your jazz boxes or just rock your booty on the dance floor, check out Kick-N-Style Line Dance in Charlotte.
“We just do a lot of line dancing. It’s basic cardio, so it’s a lot more energy we put into it than your average line dancing,” said Susan Fhaner, dance teacher.

Fhaner started teaching dance eight years ago and has taught around 400 dances to date.
You can join her every Monday and Thursday evening at Barn at Charlotte and Siren’s Bar on January 11. Learn a choreographed dance, vibrate to great music, and also learn new moves you never thought you could.
“We have fun. We mess. We make fun of each other. We joke, we love it. So it’s a workout without really feeling it. We have a lot of fun with it,” Fhaner said.

Classes are open to everyone, and it’s $ 10 per person. You must pre-register with Kick-N-Style before the course.
“It’s a good, positive atmosphere. Everyone here becomes a family. They are all supporting each other, very positive people, so it’s fun to go out. Just relieve your stress by dancing,” said Fhaner.
Dance with the Nordés
In REO Town, you can accidentally exercise and start dance with the Nordés.
The dynamic duo used to teach outdoors, but now they’ve landed the dance studio of their dreams.

“We offer animation lessons or line dance lessons depending on where you are from. We do it for contemporary hip hop, r & b, jazz,” said dance teacher and owner David Nordé.
They also offer beginner’s salsa, Detroit-style ballroom, and hip-hop cycling lessons. It’s like dancing on a bicycle.

“Constantly moving, sometimes we get up and down from the saddle, okay, some movements might be just down, head up, some can just look back, work the abs, some can just work the arms like you do it, ”Nordé said.
You can descend with the Nordés Classes From Monday to Friday. Cycle courses cost $ 20 and all other courses cost $ 15. You can also purchase a subscription for $ 50.

“It’s meant to help people relax from all the other things we all experience with COVID and stress at work. So it’s supposed to be the perfect place to relax. And enjoy your time,” said owner Tiffany Nordé. “We have three rules. And that is to stay in your lane to make mistakes.
Cardio Dance at Ledge’s Tracksuit Store
And finally get ready to sweat and try cardio dancing at Ledge Sweat Shop at Grand Rebord.
“Cardio dance, which is like Zumba. It’s just a little bit more hip hop. Then Latin Zumba,” said cardio dance owner and instructor Amanda Hengesbach. “It’s like going to the club but a lot cheaper. And, you know, you don’t have to dress completely and stuff.”

Dance after dance you’ll do anything from jumpings to squats
“You try to incorporate not only dance moves but also aerobic moves, basic moves. And some strength moves, we don’t really use weights, if you can on some songs if you like, we have them available here that you can do, “said Hengesbach.
She says the first time you come it can be a little scary.
“Because you won’t know the dances right away. And so often I tell people to focus on either your lower half or your upper half. And keep moving,” said Hengesbach.

And above all have fun. Ledge’s Sweat Shop has other fitness classes and walk-in classes are all $ 8 for adults. Students and 10-year-olds in high school cost $ 5. Or you can get a fist pass.
They also offer other fitness class like a Pound, HIIT, Zumba Gold, and Cardio and Sculpt.
