Ballroom Dance Club celebrates International Dance Day


The Mercer University Ballroom Dance Club celebrated International Dance Day on April 29 with a special choreographed dance.

Trey Dennard, a senior with dual major in history and Spanish, participated in the dance, left to right; Bethanyanne Newton, a senior specializing in biology; Noah De Mers, junior specialized in chemical trade; Sarah Storch, second year major in biomedical engineering; Ben Parisi, a junior specializing in mechanical engineering; and Cheyanne Harris, first year major in biology.

The Ballroom Dance Club meets at 8 p.m. on Mondays at Penfield Hall. Students at the club learn a variety of ballroom dance styles, including cha-cha, swing, tango, and waltz. The club often hosts dances in Mercer and attends dances around Macon and Atlanta.

Bekah is the university’s video coordinator. She shoots, produces, edits and broadcasts videos that support the University’s marketing communications goals, including the production of videos for archival purposes, social media, and special University events such as Homecoming. , Commencement and President’s Club.
